Microsoft, not happy with the latest rumors point to an abandonment of Internet Explorer and more than a bet on a possible future browser engine separated from Trident, have decided that if there was an ongoing war of browsers to see what is the fastest, they would extinguish the fire with gasoline. Today they have claimed that Internet Explorer 8 is faster than its closest competitors: Firefox 3 and Chrome.To prove so, Microsoft took pencil and notepad to conduct test on 25 popular websites (their loading time) on Chrome, Firefox and IE 8. Test results were shocking : 25 of the sites in test, IE8 was the fastest in 12 of them, Chrome in 9 and Firefox only 4.

After two months of release of its Release candidate 1, Microsoft has released this most awaited Internet Explorer 8 Final. It is now available for free public download.

Internet Explorer 8 brings several innovations compared to previous versions of the browser. Although, we still prefer other options such as Firefox or Opera. But I think, Microsoft has taken this issue seriously this time and worked hard this time on this version.
Integrated with WebSlicers and Accelerators, IE 8 will offer different Browsing experience. Internet Explorer 8 is also equipped with private browsing mode and automatic disaster recovery. Although improved greatly in their versions 6 and 7, Internet Explorer 8 is still slow when compared to Firefox, Safari, Opera or Chrome. It is available in more than 25 languages and I would like you upgrade your IE and just give it a try.

It seems that Apple was working hard to give its competitor’s a hit by this major release. Recently, they have launched Safari browser 4 (beta) for both Windows and Mac(ofcourse!) The design and interface of browser is overhauled and polished to look beautiful.

Besides it’s look many more useful features have been embedded in this version. I will write more about it when I actually experience it by the time I am leaving you with this list of features:

• Nitro, a new Javascript engine that said to be 4 times faster than Safari 3.
• Top Sites, new home page with the most visited sites, like Opera or Chrome. Perhaps, more spectacular, as we see in the screenshot.
